The GMC Sierra 1500 is available in a variety of engine options that include a turbocharged four-cylinder, a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8 and a muscular, torque-rich Duramax® diesel. The GMC Sierra 1500 offers adaptive dampers, big wheels and off-road variations. The new GMC Sierra 2500 HD truck can take on even bigger jobs than the half-ton GMC Sierra 1500. Powertrain options in the Sierra 2500 start with a 6.6-liter V8 that cranks out 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. It's matched up with a 10-speed automatic transmission and you can also get a Duramax® turbodiesel V8 with 445 horsepower.
In addition, there's an available 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 as another option, generating 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Carlinville, IL off-roaders will find the trail-focused AT4 model and AT4X are equipped with specialized equipment that include an off-road suspension system and a locking rear differential.
